Annotated Bibliography Part 2

Annotated Bibliography Part 2

Q Annotated Bibliography (30%) - Part of learning in any discipline is simply knowing where to find the information you need. To encourage this, students will compile an annotated bibliography of online references--specifically historical websites--related to each chapter of study. These must be legitimate, academically reliable websites (avoid using websites linked in the lectures...there are plenty of other good sites out there). One entry will be written for each chapter. These must include: • the name of the website • the website URL (full, specific, and accurate) • annotation consisting of a description and analysis of the content found on the source, and of the hosting site/author--dig back into the web site, find out who is behind it, and with content do not merely regurgitate facts. Length should be one paragraph (at least three to four sentences). • site summary consisting of your evaluation of the website in regards to its usefulness (academic quality, integrity of author(s), ease of navigation, things particularly helpful on the site, weaknesses, etc.). Length should be one paragraph (at least three to four sentences). • Annotations and summaries must be in your own words (copy/paste from websites will receive NO credit) • NOTE: o Do not use websites linked in the lectures. o Do not use a website more than once. (There are plenty of other distinct sites out there.) o Do not use dictionary and encyclopedia sites (or general info sites like about.com, etc.). For this assignment it is best to avoid book reviews and journal articles
